Our History

Two children sitting in dark costumes.

The Dreamland Stage Company began as Dreamland Children’s Theatre Education, producing two shows per season.  Under the direction of Artistic Director and Director of Education, Laura Gallagher Byrne, the landscape was redefined to include and encompass theatrical offerings and thought-provoking productions drawn from both new and classic works,  and enhanced programming and deeper educational experiences for children and family audiences. This new and vibrant mission demanded a new and vibrant organization, and The Dreamland Stage Company was formed. We are dedicated to offering relevant theater and arts education for young people and producing meaningful theatre that matters to our community and world.

Our Vision

The Dreamland Stage Company is committed to innovative, creative theatre that both reflects and engages our diverse, multi-generational community. We aim to provide enlightened, entertaining, and inspiring theatre that invites our audiences to  consider their lives through the lens of great plays and musicals. As the premiere Theatre For Young Audiences on Nantucket, Island, Massachusetts, The Dreamland Stage Company envisions a future where theatre is a fundamental component of arts education.  Please enjoy our videos:
